Oman has finished its 8th participation in the 23rd Ship for World Youth Program last week, after  completing three months overseas involved by interesting activities. This participation was by a delegation composed of 12 of the Omani talented youth, headed by Ahmed Al-Hooti, a well known personality in the Sultanate and a reporter of Al-Jazeera in Oman.

SWY team lunched this year for a long journey from Japan to Brisbane in Australia, under the theme "One Ship, One Heart, One World", in order to achieve and maintain a well relations between the 288 youth who participated in this ship from 12 different countries.

The three months were full of activities such as national presentations for the countries in which they show their traditions, cultures, the life in their countries, the history of each country. Besides, many programs were presented by the members of the Omani delegation especially in developing the leadership, decision making and some other activities to improve the mutual understanding and friendship between the youth from all over the world. As an obvious aim of SWY they studied and discussed common issues from a global perspective and participated in other various activities that involve multi-cultural and multi-national exchange opportunities.

According to Saeed Juma Al-Busaidi, Assistant national leader of Omani delegation, the program was a golden opportunity for him to feel the beauty of the life. "I learned so many things, But the most important thing is that we are so lucky because we are living in a very peaceful place, we saw so many problems all over the world, we learned how to solve that problems, we learned that the world can live in peace because we were from different traditions, different religions, different countries and behaviors, living together, understanding each other, living in peace and love. So I think we can make the world a better place to live." Saeed said.

The Ship for World Youth (SWY) program, operated by Cabinet Office, Government of Japan, is a program that involves youths from Japan and countries around the world, started in 1967.
